Welcome to Compassion Core.

I'm Ben and I am the owner (and designer, maker, advertiser... general busy body) of this fantastic new company! I started making jewellery in my second year of Uni while going through quite a tough time, it was a nice escape from an otherwise whirlwind. Luckily times have improved but I liked making jewellery so decided to carry on to this day. I had always planned on making a business out of my makes but now I have graduated (3 letters at the end of my name, very sophisticated) I am blessed in finally being able to do so.

Compassion Core has a very simple aim, to bring empathy and compassion to those who need it. My products are made with meaning behind them and can generally be divided into 3 broad categories:

1. Remembering loved ones who have passed away. It is hard losing a loved one and something that we all go through. That's why I have designed products to help us remember those who have gone before us - family, friends, pets; they are all important.
2. Loving nature around us. Those 3 posh letters at the end of my name (BSc) came from completing a degree in zoology (it makes me feel very cool, and I got to study sharks for my dissertation!!) So as part of my company I want to incorporate my love of animals and nature into my products. I must confess there is a bit of a bias to marine life but I am looking into other designs with many more aspects of the world around us.
3. Unique and niche gifts. We all have those quirky interests and sometimes it is an absolute nightmare to find a gift for someone who's interest is not mainstream in society. That is why I have made some products that incorporate more niche interests and allow you to buy a gift that means something.
(and secretly) 4. When making jewellery I come across all sorts of ideas and parts to buy. Some of these don't fit into the 3 categories above but I make them because I liked the idea (and it was shiny). Therefore, there is the occasional product that isn't quite on brand but I hope someone enjoys it just as much as me. This does also mean if you want to buy something very unique, I am open to making custom pieces. Fill in your details and requests on the "Contact Us" page and I will try my best (cannot make any promises however!)

I really hope to grow Compassion Core as a business, but more importantly give people products that mean something to them. If we can't be kind in this world then what can we be?

Ben.
